Quirine Lamberts Okonkwo was born and raised in the Netherlands. She moved to the US after completing a Medical Degree at the University of Utrecht and a Master Degree in Health Services Research at the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences. Her career in health care took her through the Utrecht University Medical Center, The University of Virginia and the University of Auckland, New Zealand, before Quirine and her husband, David, moved to Pittsburgh in 2006.Quirine is a life long tennis player. She picked up squash when her oldest son began playing and now the entire family is hooked on this amazing sport and playing regularly at the Pittsburgh Golf Club. She has also been a regular volunteer at Steel City Squash, both squash and academic, since the program began. Quirine and David have 3 children together and reside in Squirrel Hill.
